10 Top Things to Do in La Paz

La Paz from Above –

  1. Stroll Around The Witch Market

And surprise yourself since beside the normal souvenirs stuff, you would be seeing something extraordinary as well.

  1. Learn The Coca Culture at Coca Museum

From religious purposes, cartel, until Coca Cola, you will learn about Coca here. Be ready to pay 18 BOB or 2.60 USD in cash per person.

  1. Try Coca Infused Drink at Coca Cafe

Your choice would be coffee, cola or wine. I took part with wine! My glass of wine cost me around 4.50 USD.

  1. Walk on The Moon on Earth of Bolivia at Valle de La Luna

Amazing landscape since the formation is due to years of long rain. Proud Bolivians say this is the closest of how you can walk on the moon without going there.

  1. Enjoy Cholita Wrestling Show

Loved this since it is so original. The indigenous women with their traditional clothes in fights with men is a joy to watch. It screams feminism for me. We booked ours online from civitatis for 15 USD per person.

  1. Attend The Cultural Local Event

We got lucky and were in La Paz during the plurality day. People dressed up and paraded along the city center.

  1. Try Street Food at Plaza Bolivar

Because this is the fun part of travelling! And the choices are huge here. But, make sure to bring cash and ask first how much the food costs.

  1. Take A Cable Car Ride to Enjoy The View of La Paz

Imho the best and cheapest way to enjoy La Paz. You can choose your station. But we took it from the city center, which is the purple line. For going up & down you will need to pay the tickets separately (I know). But, on the bright side they could be used for multiple stations and will cost you only 6 BOB or 0.85 USD for the whole ride per person.

  1. Do It Like Local – Take The Van instead Uber to Go Around La Paz

When you are in La Paz, you will see a lot of vans with numbers and directions written above them. They are one of the public transportations in La Paz. We decided to take it going back from the Moon Valley like a local. It was cheap and reliable. For our almost an hour ride, it cost us 6 BOB or 0.85 USD.

  1. Visit Titicaca Lake from La Paz

We did this because we found out the Bolivian side is more beautiful than the Peruvian side. We took it with Bolivian Hop for 20 USD per person and were happy with the organization. The downside is just time. Well, to reach the lake you will need to take a ride for 4 hours each. So, it was a full day tour with an 8 hours ride.  Do consider this, if you don’t like spending too much time on the way.
