Mouthcraving Bombolonis from Angela Pastry
Thankfully, I met this lovely Texas lady in Bryant Park. She explained to me about the tipping culture, which 20% only appears if one eats in a proper gastronomie, which means one is being served properly. If one decides to just order something from the counter or fast food, tip with the voluntary amount is appreciated, but it is not a mandatory.
This information is very useful and led me to explore the food world in New York differently. Among all the delicious things that I could eat, here are my top 8:
1. Hot dogs from the street cart for 4.99$ – you can find them anywhere on the streets of New York. Do try them since hot dogs are ones of New York popular food.
You can eat it anywhere after purchasing
2. Mixed Chicken Seasoned Rice Grill by Sophie’s Cuban Food for 13.99$ – Delicious and generous in portions! You can choose your own three side dishes of your choice.
The picture really doesn’t do justice
3. Mexican Rice Bowl by Taco Bell for 9.99$ – I love rice, that’s why besides tacos is rice my go to food. This rice bowl is offered in veggie and with chicken options. I chose the chicken.
Yummy!
4. Corn Dog by Jongro from Koreatown for 6.99$ – Imho, it should be the best corn dog in New York. The batter and the sauce are perfect!
The picture justified
5. New York Kosher Bagel by Bagel & Co (depending topping & filling) from 9.99$ – It is a jewish business establishment. Therefore, it is kosher and if this is an important thing for you, this is your go to eat.
I went for Pumpernickel Bagel with Garlic Cream Cheese & Tuna Salad 🤤
6.Cheese Pizza from Scarr’s Pizza for 3.59$ – Simple, but iconic New York pizza slice.
OG slice pizza couldn’t be bought by a whole diameter they said
7. Cinnamon Bun with scrambled eggs & melted cheese from Panera Bread for 7.99$ – If you like umami flavor, you would be fine. But if not, it will feel weird to eat this combination. I love umami! And this combo was ok 🙂
Not your normal breakfast combo
8. Roasted Pork Belly with Rice from Wah Fung for 5.50$ – The price is for the small portion. But, it is hearty enough already. Please prepare your cash, since you wouldn’t be able to pay cashless. Ooh, and be ready to stay in line!
Adding hot sauce is a must!
Note – Please note that prices are not included with tax and tip. These are the prices from September 2024.
