Entering The New Year

Do you know that Schwarzwald / Black Forest can offer this beautiful view?

Today is the second day of 2022 (originally written on 2nd, January 2022). To say it out loud, I can’t believe that another year has finally come! So, cheers to that! Cincin. Looking back, there are a lot of things and changes that have been happening in my personal life. But at the same time, not so much as well.

Well, last year was special, in terms of settling ‘roots’ in a new country – I know, it seems that settling down just never ends. But, it is a learning process with time on its take to be eloquent. Finishing language learning, having a major career change, building more connections, and moving to a desired flat are some progress. However, at the same time I only travelled a bit, Corona is still there and adjusting to something new is always a homework (which if you have moved a lot, you’d get this /wink).

Nevertheless, a grateful attitude was needed to be expressed for the past Christmas, a time where I always associate with family gatherings. Living far away from home, I can say how blessed you are if you have a hygge home, delicious food on the table, and being surrounded by people you love. They are the one of the simplest, yet the best things that one can have in life. Therefore, I feel especially thankful for this day, for the fact that I am able to spend Christmas with my extended family and my second home.

And if I may say that I’ve Iearned something, it is to dream big. Dream so big that it can take you to better places. Give maximum effort to what you do. However, do not beat yourself up if they don’t end up the way you want them to, because eventually they will be okay in the end.

Yes, we were born to strive and survive in this world since our journeys started in those beloved mothers’ wombs, yet we are blessed to be granted the essence to feel alive more than just living. Life is meant to be enjoyed not endured (especially since it is finite).

So to all of you that have made time to read until this far, I wish you a Happy New Year. May you make more fond memories this year that you can cherish for the rest of your life!
