1. Poland has one of the best universities in the world and they are affordable
You don’t believe me? Go and research these

Universities then. Well, higher education in Poland is not a strange word. There are around 450 Universities in Poland, around 130 of them are government-funded and the rest are privatised. When it comes to your budget, you can choose the one that suits you, both financially and based on your personal interest.

2. Poland cooperates with other European universities
No kidding! As I was there, I had classmates from other Universities from other countries. They were exchange students that benefited from this corporation. The same goes for you. You can also apply for scholarships to study at the other Universities in Europe. This program is funded by the EU under the name ‘’

Erasmus’’. I was lucky and got the chance to go to Brussels for an exchange. It was a fun experience in testing out how you collaborate within global scope.

3. Polish Universities offer wide range of study field in English
This is the most important point before I decided to study in Poland. In case you don’t know, Polish is one of the hardest languages that I have encountered. Don’t even ask me about the pronunciation. There are just a lot of consonants sometimes in one word. Therefore, I am glad that they offer a quite wide range of study fields in English, learning is possible!

4. Polish Universities (mostly) accommodate their students with dorms
And I am glad they do! Can you imagine the hassle in finding a place to live in a new country? It seems like a lot of work, right? Well, thank Poland for accommodating their students with the dormitories. They are not the luxurious place to sleep imho, but who cares. As long as it is a safe, conducive and productive place to rest and study, it would be okay. After all, what do students need to achieve? In the end, it’s about to finish your study.

5. Poland offers scholarship to its students without TOEFL and/or IELTS
My roommate is one of the examples. She told me that she benefited from this scholarship program, where she, unlike the other scholarship program, didn’t have to provide her TOELF / IELTS score. But on the other hand, it was mandatory for her to study the Polish language for a year or 1,5 years in order to study her field later in Polish. It is a good chance if you are up for a challenge.

6. Poland has lower living cost in comparison to other European countries
It’s true. As I was researching the living cost in Europe, I was comparing the east and west European countries and the result varied, for example Poland vs Germany. Click comparison if you are curious. When I was studying in Poland, the rate of PLZ (Polish Zloty) to EUR (Euro) was about 1:4, where in Poland something usually cost three times cheaper than in Belgium, for example my shared dormitory room in Poland cost me 100EUR per month, while my single room in Belgium cost me 350EUR.

7. Poland is located strategically in the center of Europe
Good news if you want to travel! Being located strategically in the middle of Europe, one can travel around Europe from Poland as a starting point. You can easily book a cheap bus ticket or train, enjoy the ride and explore the new neighbouring countries. Throw away all your stereotypes about eastern Europe because they are underrated and have unexpected beautiful corners. See for yourself!

8. Poland gives you the opportunity to work while studying and after finishing your study
How convenient! If you are ambitious for your career path or want to help support your families while you are studying. There is the possibility to work. While you might not be legal yet to work full time, you can always do a part-time job. A lot of my international classmates did it and they continued to work in Poland after our study ended.

9. Poland has growing numbers of expats
With a high incoming number of international students per year and a growing number of multinational companies, Poland is welcoming expats more than ever. Poland has become an attractive destination to study and work for expats all around the globe. And I remember that when I lived in my dormitory, it was even designed for international students only, which made it feel more like home since we all are far away from home.

10. Poland has one of the most interesting cultural aspects in Europe
I’m not sure how good your history is. But Poland endured a lot in its history. During the world war, there was a time that Poland was occupied by the Soviet Union, making it the ex-Soviet Union country that one can see in the architectural remains. It was also a part of Nazi Germany, that some of its cities had two names. Either cause, Poland is Poland the way it is because of its past. There are a lot of museums, old towns and remains that you can observe and visit to learn more about it.
