Denmark House Tour

Chillin’ in front of the housing that we rent in Skagen, Denmark

Houses in Denmark fascinate me, from the outer facades to how the interiors are placed. I just love how everything seems to be well taken into consideration as a whole package.

Here are the typical Denmark house characteristics that I saw on my holiday:

So, there are usually two buildings on land, the main house and the smaller one. They have the same style. Practically two same buildings with just different sizes, the bigger one is used for the main home and the smaller one is for the guest house or gardening storage space.

An example of two buildings with the exact designs, seen at Fanø, Denmark

They are made usually from wood (and if not they have thatch roof, very ecological indeed. Not just the outer facade, but also the inner part, and flooring are made from wood! As an effect, it instantly adds a warm feeling to the building.

The interior, which is my favourite aspect of them all! I have to say that I fell in love with how the Danes decorate their homes. It is made into what I define a proper HOME, a place where comfort meets the eye, a place that is inviting, a place that you can have your hygge from the harsh weather outside.

A little pop up question, does anyone know what hygge is?
