The Journey of Meat Free Life

Tracing back, I have ever lived a free meat life for three years until 3 years ago. It all started because I was feeling bloated for being served with meat everyday in a row for two weeks. I was doing my internship at a five star hotel in Seville. I started my first two weeks by accommodating the wishes of my guests for their breakfast. It means that they could take whatever they want from the buffet table. But they can ask me for special requests, such as special brewed coffee, cakes, special cooked eggs and so on.The joy came afterward after the guests had finished eating, where I also could have the buffet. It is one of the best buffets that I have experienced in my life. There are a lot of A to Z that one can choose. I’m talking not only the patisserie course, but also the assortment of milk and meat. Being the student that I was, I was in my amazement of all these choices and took the opportunity to full-fill my carnivore desire.

But, after almost two weeks, I lost the appetite to eat meat. It seemed.. Well, too much.. I felt heavier, bloated and not so energised. Therefore, I changed my diet. It began with a two weeks no meat goal. I found it not so hard since the bloating was overwhelming. Then I decided to continue my no meat journey as long as I can. At the same time, I have been seeing the differences in my body. I manage to maintain my weight without having to train a lot.

Well, let me explain. The previous time, I had been maintaining my weight with constant training. Jogging twice a week is a must! But after my plant-based diet journey, it is easier to maintain weight just by watching what you put in your mouth. Apparently my body burns calories from plant sources better than animal sources. Realising that my diet choice has an impact for

a better environment, however I decided to not continue it again. But that story is for another time.
